Mumbai aka Bombay is our first destination. The busy city offers numerous attractions to the avid tourist! Our first visit was to the prominent Bollywood :) We weren’t allowed anywhere near the filming grounds however we were given the chance to see homes of some thriving actors… (respecting their privacy I decided against taking any photos of their beautiful houses).

We arrive and settle at the famous Taj Hotel. The 5 star hotel is an architectural marvel and brings together Moorish, Oriental and Florentine styles. Offering panoramic views of the Arabian Sea and the Gateway of India.

Our room, its view and some of the guests who had stayed at the hotel…

Dinner at the hotel… I’m absolutely in love with Indian food! The Prawn Masala was especially a must-have at the table :)

And of course… my desert ;)

Next, a visit to Ghandi’s house … An overwhelming feeling lights within as we walk into this great man’s home… exploring his work.

We tour the city and our guide insists we try the local food from one of the food stalls (delicious!)… Later we pass by Mumbai’s University… and finally, one of the biggest laundry “Dhobi” businesses in Mumbai (Slumdog Millionaire was filmed here).
